Department Summary
The Center for Learning Experimentation, Application, and Research (CLEAR) was initially established in 1998 as a service to assist faculty with the development and delivery of distributed learning at UNT. Since that time, CLEAR has expanded services to support all types of instruction at UNT. The Center combines technology resources with expert consultation and personnel in course design/redesign, assessment, pedagogy and many other topics in an effort to provide faculty with "one-stop" support for creating quality courses - regardless of the instructional delivery method.
Position Overview
DSI CLEAR is seeking a Digital Accessibility Tester interested in digital accessibility and ADA compliance in online courses and learning environments. The DSI CLEAR Digital Accessibility Assistant will support the DSI CLEAR accessibility compliance team in reviewing and remediating online course content and learning environments so that they are ADA compliant.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree from Accredited Institution or equivalent experience. Experienced with commonly used accessibility software includes: screen readers and screen magnifiers such as JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, ZoomText; WAVE and/or aXe web accessibility evaluators, color contrast analyzers, Canvas, captioning software. Experience with any of these programs or comparable programs is required.

-Experience with assistive technology
Preferred Qualifications
-Passionate about Universal Design for Learning and accessible educational technology and learning in higher education.
-Interest in best practices in digital accessibility for different document formats (HTML, Word, PPT, PDF, Excel).
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Ensuring that online courses designed with the assistance of DSI CLEAR are accessible to students with a wide range of disabilities. Performing accessibility testing of course content, which includes third-party websites, software applications, different document formats, multimedia, and Canvas content.
- Reviewing all content used in online instruction, assisting faculty and staff with remediating course content to be ADA compliant and functionally accessible. Working closely with the accessibility compliance team at DSI CLEAR to determine tasks and needs.
