Department Summary

UNT System Information Technology is a component of The University of North Texas System. The mission of UNT System Information Technology is simple: to be the best at delivering customer-aligned IT solutions and services. Our services are provided to all member institutions using an IT shared services governance model.

UNT System Information Technology provides the primary technology used by all campuses to support their operations. Position Overview

This position involves direct programming work in both development and maintenance projects and troubleshooting errors. Work is performed with independent judgment, in accordance with established University and System Information Technology department policies and procedures, under the general direction of the Student Administration Resource Managers and Technical Lead of the Student Records System Development Team.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of progressively responsible computer programming and analysis experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Intermediate knowledge of the methods and equipment used in electronic data processing, including system analysis and design, and computer programming techniques.
* Strong skill in writing programs for computer applications.
* Strong skill in analyzing and solving complex data processing and computing problems.
* Ability to coordinate a work team and train lower-level programmers and analysts for specific tasks or assignments.
* Ability to communicate technical and other information to a variety of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior experience with PeopleSoft, SQL, and Python preferred.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties

Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.
Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.

This position supports the Academic Advising Support area in the Registrar’s Office and is responsible for facilitating processes efficiently for the maintenance and coordination of the degree audit system. System Administrator

Alternates between phone/walk-in coverage and ticket resolution, with ticket resolution expected as the default when calls are not active. Provides in person support across main campus and Discovery Park as needed, including research labs, clinics, and departmental lab setups. Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and documenting unique department and lab requirements, and for handling sensitive information within CAS IT's scope. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and support a wide variety of applications and needs across the faculty base.

Senior Custodian

Provides onsite supervision of custodial crews as assigned; maintains an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff, and public. Communicates information in response to inquiries; ensures rooms are clean and ready for meetings, classroom activities, and events; maintains facilities to minimize facility deterioration and damage. Oversees the work activities of assigned site custodial personnel for the purpose of ensuring activities are completed within assigned time frames and in compliance with campus standards. Works under moderate supervision that relies on initiative and good judgment to be an effective leader.

UNT Retail Dining Services, Food Service Specialist

The Food Service Specialist within UNT Retail Dining Services is responsible for delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position supports daily operations by preparing and serving menu items, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring a clean and welcoming dining area for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

LVN

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing care and clinical support for patients in a healthcare setting. The LVN assists in the delivery of patient care for individuals who are ill, injured, or seeking preventive health services. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed healthcare provider, the LVN performs clinical procedures, monitors patient conditions, and supports the healthcare team in implementing treatment plans.

Assistant Community Director (Live-in position)

This person assists the Community Director and serves as a live-in leader and general caretaker to students in the residence hall. Tasks include assisting with the implementation of student development concepts through programs and discipline, assisting with the monitoring of facilities, and supporting University programs and efforts. These responsibilities may vary from building to building.
