Position Overview
The Event Technology Assistant provides technical support for Division of Humanities events.
Responsibilities include transporting, setting up, operating, and returning audiovisual
equipment used during events. This position may be scheduled for individual events
throughout the year depending on divisional needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to set up and operate basic audiovisual equipment such as microphones,
speakers, projectors, and presentation systems.
Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues during live events.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively with event organizers, presenters, and attendees.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with AV equipment such as microphones, projectors, and speakers
Strong attention to detail during setup and breakdown
Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues during live events
Ability to communicate with event organizers and presenters
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting live events or academic presentations
Familiarity with equipment used by the UNT History Department
Job Duties
- Transport audiovisual equipment to event location.
- Set up microphones, speakers, and presentation equipment.
- Test equipment prior to event start.
- Operate AV equipment during the event as needed.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues during the event.
- Break down and pack equipment after the event.
- Return equipment to campus storage location.
