The Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) Office is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing effective and meaningful financial aid assistance. FAS is responsible for processing financial aid applications, administrating various financial aid programs, and providing financial aid counseling to students and their families.
Position Overview
This position will assist with the administration of various scholarship programs to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant awarding of aid. This employee will serve as a primary contact for campus partners regarding UNT scholarship administration. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, work well within a team as well as independently, and be able to manage multiple projects at once.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in related field, three years in student services or related roles. Equivalent education, training, experience accepted. Must maintain good standing on federal student loans, grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- In depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies and procedures or ability to quickly assimilate.

Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience working within a financial aid office.
- Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding the administration of financial aid.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to verify such standing.
Job Duties
- Manage and maintain requests for technical setup required in PeopleSoft to award scholarships to include organization, monitoring, reporting, and related outreach.
- Responsible for reviewing and completing quality controls related to scholarship and financial aid administration. Manage the review and resolution of scholarship disbursement error lists.
- Provide customer service and guidance to campus partners and colleagues. Serve as point of contact for in-depth scholarship questions.
- Process scholarship awards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
- Assist with answering general scholarship inquiries from students and families as well as with officewide tasks such as aid adjustments, customer service inquiries during peak times, and financial aid presentations such as orientations, high school nights, and preview events.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, NCAA, and institutional rules and regulations regarding the administration of scholarships and financial aid. Monitor federal, state, NCAA, and institutional aid administration updates for impact to processing and/or customer service provided. Provide feedback and recommendations to supervisor regarding scholarship and related policies and procedures to help develop and maintain best business practices.
