Position Overview
The University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC), HSC Health is seeking a primary care physician for a full-time Geriatrician (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) to provide care within the HSC Center for Older Adults. As part of the interprofessional team focused on the delivery of care within an ambulatory academic care setting, focused on older adults. This position requires the clinical assessment/evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients in accordance with the standard of care.
Minimum Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited medical school. Licensed to practice medicine in another state or have completed at least two years of postgraduate residency (not limited to the United States) Passed the Texas Medical Jurisprudence Examination.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Licensed to practice medicine in another state or have completed at least two years of postgraduate residency (not limited to the United States) Passed the Texas Medical Jurisprudence Examination Ability to practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentials Ability to care for a diverse patient population
Preferred Qualifications
Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible Texas Medical Board unrestricted medical license
Job Duties:
- Primary medical care to patients with various medical continuations; examine, diagnose, prevention, develop and review treatment plans, ongoing care, order and review laboratory testes as needed to treat medical patients for older adults
- Collaborate with healthcare team(s) and other members of the team such as; advance practice professionals and other clinical providers (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharmacist, social worker, geriatric specialist etc).Provide continuous and comprehensive primary care for older adults
- Timely documentation of care provided within an electronic health recordCoordinate and integrate care across all elements of the healthcare system
