Department Summary

The Department of Mathematics has 25 tenure system faculty, 18 professional faculty, 50-60 graduate students, and about 150 majors. Our graduate degree offerings include a Ph.D. in Mathematics and M.S. degrees, as well as Math Education options. Undergraduate offerings include B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics, with or without teacher certification. Additional information about the department is available at math.unt.edu.

We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Overview

The UNT Mathematics Department is seeking applications for a full-time lecturer position to begin in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses/sections each semester during the academic year, primarily focusing on entry-level college mathematics courses. Additionally, the lecturer may have the opportunity to teach co-requisite pathway courses designed for students needing extra support to achieve college readiness. Employment offers for this position are contingent upon the availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field by August 2025, including a minimum of 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework with a MATH or STAT prefix. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of experience teaching college-level mathematics courses.
