Department Summary
Administrative Information Technology Services (AITS) is uniquely positioned to support the University's mission by providing the primary university-wide, shared resources of computing hardware, software, data and voice communications, and technology to professional personnel on campus. AITS is called upon to provide computing and electronic communications resources when it can do so more effectively or more efficiently than separate units.
Position Overview
The UNT IT Help Desk provides technical support for UNT-supported systems (myUNT, Canvas, Microsoft 365, Wi-Fi, etc.) to the UNT community. We provide support to UNT students, faculty, and staff via email, phone, trouble tickets, live chat, and walk-up support. The UNT IT Helpdesk is part of Administrative IT Services (AITS). As a Help Desk Technician, you will take part in providing customer support to the UNT community.
Minimum Qualifications
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Good understanding of computers, mobile devices, and other tech products
•Experience using UNT-supported IT Services, like Microsoft 365, Canvas, MyUNT, etc.
•The ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
•Proficiency in English
•Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•Experience working in a Customer Service or Call Center role

Job Duties
- Identify and suggest improvements in procedures and services Documenting work in our ticketing system (ServiceNow) Escalating unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers and walking them through the problem-solving process.

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday 8-5. Evening and weekend shifts are common.
