Position Overview
A postdoctoral fellow position in computational biology/chemistry is available in the lab of Dr. Jin Liu in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. We are looking for a creative, independent and highly motivated individual to join our team.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree. If not yet conferred, a letter from the school's official Graduate Office and/or Registrar's Office certifying that all requirements have been met and stating the degree conferral date can be accepted. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills

- Advanced training in quantitative research methods
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer if the Doctoral Degree is in chemistry, biology, or related field.
- A strong background in computational biology/chemistry (e.g. molecular dynamics simulations) and machine learning is essential.

Job Duties
- Apply machine learning to drug discovery, biomolecular simulations, and protein engineering on CRISPR-Cas systems.
- Participate in student training.
- Participate in other projects as assigned.
- Execute experiments independently, collect data and take good notes of experiments, and keep up-to-date with the most recent literature in the field of study.
- Write manuscripts and prepare materials for scientific presentations inside and outside.
