Department Summary

The Department of Biological Sciences, one of four departments in the College of Science, has over 40 faculty, 175 graduate and 3,000 undergraduate students. Our faculty is a community of scholars dedicated to research and teaching in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Physiology, Neuroscience, Plant Biology, and Organismal environment interactions. We offer Bachelor’s degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Ecology, Medical Laboratory Science, and Forensic Science, and Master’s and PhDs in Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Environmental Science. We measure our success by the success of our students and the quality of our intellectual contributions to society.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Overview

The Dzialowski lab is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Research Associate with skills and experience in developmental physiology. Our lab investigates how organisms respond to stressors in their environment. The ideal candidate will have experience measuring organismal metabolic rate, mitochondria function, and cardiovascular function. Further responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the project, manuscript and proposal writing, presenting original research internally and externally at meetings and conferences, and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree or PhD in Biology from an accredited institution or all requirements for the doctoral degree completed (e.g., coursework, dissertation defense, etc.) with formal conferral of the degree pending at the time of appointment.

Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Preferred Qualifications

Experimental experience with vessel myograph and mitochondrial function.
