The Department of Teacher Education and Administration seeks to improve educational practice through the generation of knowledge and to prepare education professionals who serve all students. Its focus is on the preparation of EC-6 educators and school administrators who employ current theory and research.
Position Overview
The Program Project Specialist supports an educational project, requiring a general understanding of the function/specialization. Responsibilities include induction activities, assisting with recruitment, collecting data, managing social media and website content, maintaining compliance records, and providing general project support.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and one year of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong computer proficiency, which includes a grasp of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), email communication and calendar management, navigating web browsers and conducting online research, and utilizing collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to provide leadership for student employees and volunteers.
- Experience in networking across departments and programs.
- Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Proficiency with web-based platforms, including Qualtirics and Canva, is highly preferred.
Job Duties:
- Plans, promotes and implements activities related to assigned program, which may include development of program presentations, recruitment, and training.
- Writes scholarly reports, grant proposals or other program/project related documents.
- Provide administrative support for the grant including budget management, purchasing, reconciling accounts, obtaining necessary approvals and ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements.
- Assists with implementation, development, planning, promotion/dissemination and logistical support of project.
- Maintains and reports accurate program/project related records which are consistent with applicable grant/program/university requirements.
- Assist with oversight of Teaching Fellows and related duties (i.e. training, evaluation) as well as providing guidance for professional development and community involvement which include internship programs, as necessary. Responsible for posting jobs for interns (non-student hourly staff) and act as supervisor for timesheet approvals.

Work Schedule:
20 hours per week Monday - Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm
