The Department of Property Control at the University of North Texas Health is essential in managing, documenting, safeguarding, and State reporting on all University assets. Our mission is to ensure the responsible management, tracking, and utilization of all property owned by the UNT Health. Position Overview
The Property Clerk will receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other surplus items from campus and the surplus warehouse. They will also manage the gas cylinder program and will keep accurate records and compile stock reports.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
Computer/Tech knowledge
Proficient in MS Excel and MS Outlook
Experience in inventory
Professional and positive attitude.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Driver's License Required.
Job Duties
- Physically receive and sort all incoming surplus items, including assets to be recorded in EIS, updating the Custodian, department, and location as well as verifying that documentation for surplus computers is complete.
- Determine disposition of incoming surplus to include, repurpose on campus, donation, TDCJ, sale, or obsolete, ensuring state statutes are followed.
- Work with IT Helpdesk to ensure all hard drives are documented and cleared up for Surplus. All surplus CPUs have the data or hard drive removed for further surplus processing.
- Surplus Sale: This includes organizing lots, taking pictures, updating EIS to include lot /sale info, collaborating and completing the paperwork needed for disposals. Prepare all paperwork for direct sales to assist customers with selected items which include handling checks, and money orders, documenting the deposit, and delivering the deposit to the cashier’s office.
- Work with the vendor for documenting incoming gas cylinders and filling of bulk LN2 gas tanks. Create all necessary paperwork to ensure cylinders are delivered to the correct building and department. Safely fill liquid nitrogen dewars and contact the department when complete.
- Pickup and deliver small surplus items to and from the campus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.

- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
