Department Summary

The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) is a unique residential program for high school-aged Texas students who are high achievers and interested in mathematics and science. While living on campus in McConnell Hall, students in this two-year program complete a rigorous academic curriculum of college coursework at the University of North Texas (UNT). Instruction is by university faculty. There are no high school courses taught, but students enjoy many of the activities of high school and the company of age mates who are intellectual peers.

Position Overview

To facilitate the completion of students' applications by linking documents with Perceptive Content and communicating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the completion of the entire student's application for the TAMS admissions team. The position will also be responsible for assisting with additional administrative and data entry tasks as needed by the TAMS admissions team. This is part-time for a temporary period of time.

Minimum Qualifications

Previous experience with the UNT system

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced Excel and Microsoft Word skills
Attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Linking Perceptive Content documents concerning applicants to the TAMS program. Contacting relevant stakeholders concerning incomplete items which would facilitate completion of applications for review. 
  • Helping the TAMS Admissions team as needed with data entry or other administrative tasks to facilitate the recruitment or admissions processes to ensure we are able to meet enrollment needs
