Department Summary

Risk Management Services' programs provide proactive support for the strategic, operational and financial foundation of the University of North Texas. A safe academic environment is the top priority of our department and staff members. We help identify, analyze and mitigate risks so that the UNT community can freely pursue opportunities for growth and advancement. Our staff members also work to identify, protect and conserve university resources from loss. To achieve our goals, we work together with the UNT community to help them proactively manage risks, implement preventative measures, plan for their challenges and work through any issues that occur.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing systems administration support to the department. Position manages and maintains departmental information systems. The position is responsible for collecting and maintaining relevant data and information, data analysis and identification of trends to area directors with decision making and managing their operations, tracking internal and external audit findings, assisting with project coordination and producing reports for various audiences. The position also provides internal information technology and systems support, including website support, for all operations within the Risk Management Services department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 2 Years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of information systems
• Proficient in basic web page design and maintenance
• Excellent organizational and database management skills • Strong project management skills
• Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects across various operations
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proven experience utilizing tools and methods to develop customer focused standardized processes; focused on efficiency and continuous improvement

Job Duties

  • Manages, maintains, and updates Risk Management Information System (RMIS), including importing and exporting data from various internal UNT IT systems. Develops and implements functionality within RMIS system, including creation of reporting tools and user dashboards. 
  • Responsible for RMIS end user training and system support. Documents workflow processes as directed. Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for RMIS administrator as well as Insurance and Claims RMIS user manual. Acts as the primary point of contact between Risk Management Services and external insurance broker (HUB) on RMIS issues 
  • Provides analytical support to Director, Insurance and Claims in the areas of internal premium allocations; annual validation and updates of insurance exposure information and claim trend analysis 
  • Assists with and/or coordinates special projects for the Insurance/Claims section, including developing and maintaining written procedures and forms. 
  • Gathers and analyzes relevant data for various projects and reports, including eligibility verification for enrollment in Student Health Insurance Plan.

Contract Analyst

The Contract Analyst position within the Research Contracting team of Grants & Contracts Administration unit, is responsible for reviewing standard contract terms, identifying key provisions, and escalating non-standard or complex issues. This role develops foundational knowledge of contract principles, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies while managing assigned agreements in a high-volume environment. The Contract Analyst supports the administration of research-related agreements with a primary focus on standard, lower-risk, and non-funded agreements. This position works under the guidance of the Assistant Director and in collaboration with senior analysts to ensure agreements are processed in accordance with university policies and applicable regulations. assists with the preparation and processing of research-related agreements, including compiling and organizing contract documents and supporting materials. They also assist in basic regulatory and policy requirement review (FAR, DFAR, CFR) and elevate questions to senior staff. This role is responsible for accurate and timely entry of contract data into the Research Contracting document management system and for tracking contract status throughout the review process. This position plays a key role in supporting consistent workflow processes, accurate recordkeeping, and effective communication across the research contracting function. The Contract Analyst may also perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
