Grants and Contracts Administration (GCA) within the Division of Research & Innovation supports the University of North Texas, a tier 1 research university, in its endeavor to excel in its research mission. Position Overview

The Sr. Research Analyst within the Grants & Contracts Administration unit of the Division of Research & Innovation, will work on the Post Award Grant Management team to oversee post award expenditure compliance and management of grant usage. Reporting to the Sr Director, Post Award Grant Management, this position's job duties will include:
- Budget review and reconciliation to ensure fiscal accuracy and transparency
- Financial analysis and forecasting to support proactive grant management (monitoring burn rate, ensuring accurate reporting to agencies)
- Development and implementation of procedures that align with federal, state, and institutional compliance standards and communication with college/unit research administrators
- Quasi supervision and oversight of college/unit post-award staff, including training
- Strategic process optimization in collaboration with the Sr. Director to streamline operations and reduce risk

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, auditing, public administration, or related field and five years of relevant administrative work or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Ability to work independently on assigned proposals and awards, and as part of a team of central and distributed research administrators to support common goals.
* Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong time management and problem solving skills.
* Prior knowledge of pre- or post-award administration regulations and procedures.
* General administrative experience with budgets, purchasing, payroll, travel with specific skill in budget planning, analysis, and reconciliation.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Duties

  • Oversee budgets, reporting schedules, and regulatory timelines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and approver for all sponsored project expenditures
  • Point of contact for post-award issues and compliance inquiries from specific college units including advising Principal Investigators (PIs) and project staff on award terms, obligations, and allowable costs 
  • Coordinate internal communication, including amendments, extensions, and reporting requirements 
  • Interpret federal, state, and institutional policies and translate them into actionable guidance 
  • Act as liaison between PIs, administrative staff, and the central office (Sr. Director and Post Award Accounting staff) to ensure seamless operations and billing 
  • Monitor report submissions and ensure timely and compliant project closeouts and assist with effort reporting and monitoring in the college/units

Adjunct Assistant Professor

This position supports the Physician Assistant Studies Program through a combination of teaching, student assessment, admissions participation, and departmental service. The faculty member will assist course directors in delivering high-quality didactic and clinical instruction, evaluating student performance, and grading assignments, examinations, and clinical activities. Responsibilities include teaching and demonstrating clinical skills in classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning environments; delivering lectures and facilitating learning activities as assigned; and providing educational support across multiple courses within the curriculum. The individual will also contribute to student recruitment efforts by participating in applicant interviews and admissions selection processes. In addition, the faculty member will collaborate with program leadership and fellow faculty on a variety of departmental initiatives, accreditation-related activities, committee work, and other program responsibilities as needed. Faculty Project Coordinator for Mathematics Developmental Education

The Faculty Project Coordinator will serve to administer the Academic Summer Bridge program under the supervision of the Office of the Provost. This employee will have the rank of Lecturer, teach boot camps as a part of the Summer Bridge program during the summer, and teach three courses each fall and spring semester in the Department of Mathematics. In addition, the employee will develop and assess the curriculum for mathematics developmental education.

Student Services Coordinator (Center for Academic Performance)

The Writing Coordinator in the Center for Academic Performance is a hybrid position, working both on campus and remotely to aid in the support of students by providing academic writing and presentation support. This position will meet individually with students, both in person and via online meeting platforms, to assess and provide feedback regarding writing skills.
