Department Summary
The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to create transformational experiences for all UNT Health students by providing tailored support and fostering holistic development. There are 8 functional units within the Division of Student Affairs: Center for Student Life, Career Readiness Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Office for Disability Access, and Student Assistance Resource Center.
Position Overview
The Division of Student Affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Sr. Student Services Coordinator, to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating in person and online new student orientations for graduate professionals. These programs are aimed at supporting the successful transition, integration, and retention of first-year students into the university community.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of large institutional event development and execution.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask with varying deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Higher Education with training on student affairs related theory and practice or other related masters level training.
- Three years experience in related field.
- Experience developing online learning modules.
- Experience managing both paid and unpaid event staff.
Job Duties
- Independently develop, manage and execute new student orientation for online and in person students across all HSC schools and programs.
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of (30) Orientation Leaders.
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of CSL Intern.
- Assist with the logistical planning and execution of Programmatic Engagement events ( i.e. New Student Orientation, First Year Experience, Commencement.)
- Oversee budget allocations, including planning, purchasing and reconciliation for New Student Orientation.
Physical Requirements
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Environmental Hazards
- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with occasional evenings or weekends as required for divisional events.
