The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for Spanish Adjunct Instructor Positions for Academic Year 2025-2026. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the Spanish program. Position Overview
The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received.
Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction for online, hybrid and face-to-face classes in Spanish at all levels of proficiency; comply with departmental curriculum, grading standards, attendance policies, textbook choices, semester teaching evaluations, and other established procedures; return college reports, credentials, and other requested documentation in a timely manner; as well as effectively communicate with appropriate staff and the Spanish program coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Spanish, Spanish Linguistics or Literature, Spanish Education, or related field.
• Experience in developing and teaching college or university level courses.
• Availability to teach day and evening face-to-face courses.
• Experience teaching online and hybrid courses.
• Experience in teaching a range of Spanish courses, such as Elementary Spanish, Intermediate Spanish, Spanish for Heritage Speakers, and Spanish for the Professions.
• Willingness to teach Early College High School courses.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications
• Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Spanish, Spanish Linguistics or Literature, Spanish Education, or related field.
• LOTE Spanish Certification.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a learning-centered environment.
• Experience working with non-traditional students.
• Experience with recruitment and retention of students from many different backgrounds.
• Knowledge of heritage speaker’s pedagogy.
• Experience in developing and implementing service learning and experiential learning in curricular and co-curricular settings.
• Experience in service activities for university and community.
• Physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions.
