The CARE Team is part of the Dean of Students Office, and is a collaborative interdisciplinary committee of university officials that meets regularly to provide a response to students, staff, and faculty whose behavior could be harmful to themselves or others.

- Assist in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the UNT community.
- Support student, staff, and faculty success.
- Provide a comprehensive response to students, staff, and faculty whose behavior could be harmful to themselves or others.
Position Overview
The position reports to the Director, Intervention Services in the Dean of Students Office, within the Division of Student Affairs. This position coordinates the university's process for responding to students and students' behavior that is identified as a potential risk, either to themselves and/or to others or the community. This position triages referrals, assigns cases, determines type and level of intervention, meets with students, creates personalized support and resource plans, advocates and follows up with students, and reports to the BIT Team as necessary. This position will also provide backup support as needed to the Intervention Services team.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and two years' of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops. Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations. Experience in networking across departments and programs. Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population. Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.

Job Duties:
- Develops and maintains caseload records for the Behavior Intervention Team and determines through consultation with the Dean of Students and Conduct which cases should move forward to the BIT Team.
- Creates CARE OnCall Schedule, triages referrals to the CARE team using the standardized risk rubric and assigns to cases to appropriate CARE team members.
- Tracks CARE/BIT data, leading all efforts around data collection and assessment as well as creating and maintaining reporting on weekly, by semester, and annual basis or as requested by leadership.
- Trains and advises CARE On call staff; provides regular updates regarding best practices, risk assessment, intervention strategies, and case studies
- Stays abreast of state and local laws, university policy, and best practices as it relates to mental health, responding to student crises, FERPA, Clery, Title IX, etc.
- Completes special projects and serves on committees as assigned by the Dean of Students or DSA leadership.
- Serve as a member of the CARE Team, maintaining a rotating oncall schedule for students in crisis.
- Serves as a Campus Security Authority for the purposes of Clery and reports Clery crimes according to policy and federal law
- Completes all appropriate training as needed for the position.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8-5. Occasional nights and weekends.
