The University of North Texas is seeking candidates for the position of Coordinator for Student Engagement within the Division of Student Affairs. The coordinator reports to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs – Engagement and will assist in the development and implementation of programs and services housed within the Division. The nature of this position adapts to meet the changing needs of the Division of Student Affairs.
Position Overview
The University of North Texas is seeking candidates for the position of Coordinator for Student Engagement within the Division of Student Affairs. The coordinator reports to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs – Engagement and will assist in the development and implementation of programs and services housed within the Division. The nature of this position adapts to meet the changing needs of the Division of Student Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years' of student services, student affairs,counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education,training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
* Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
* Experience in networking across departments and programs.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple
projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
* Some experience in customer service is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in college student affairs, counseling, higher education, or closely related field and one year of experience in student affairs preferred; Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience in working with students in a higher education setting required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Work collaboratively with the Department of Higher Education to provide a robust Graduate Assistant (GA) Program within the Division of Student Affairs. Advise the Distinguished Lecture Series and student chair and help facilitate all planning aspects for events Coordinate programming and outreach for North VOTExas, a campus-wide voting project to ensure students are informed voters.
- Assist with the development, revision, and distribution of marketing, educational, and informational publications and materials related to areas of responsibility. Advance philosophies of student affairs and cultural diversity while actively promoting diversity in programming and student leadership.
- Assist the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs in the recruitment and interview processes for the North Texas in DC (NTDC) program. Provide outreach to students receiving emergency funds/financial awards through the Division of Student Affairs to help ensure their success at UNT. Oversee the development and production of the UNT Planner each academic year. Assist in the development and implementation of assessments, evaluations, and research activities related to programs. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
