Department Summary

The University of North Texas is focused on the retention and overall success of our students. Through Orientation and Transition Programs, resources and services are provided to help you establish and attain your educational goals. Beginning with your first year, our office serves as a central location to help you connect with your peers, faculty, staff, and parents. These connections can help guide and direct you through your experiences at UNT.

Position Overview

Transfer Ambassadors are students who help prospective, new, and continuing transfer students transition successfully to UNT. Ambassadors help transfer students build connections with each other and the university.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current 2025-2026 Transfer Ambassador.
Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average throughout employment
Undergraduate student
Good academic and disciplinary standing with the University throughout employment
Successful completion of a background check

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Eager and self-motivated to connect with prospective, admitted, and current transfer students
Effective and clear communication
Knowledge of UNT resources, services, and departments
Takes initiative to coordinate and carry out events with minimal direction

Job Duties

  • Serve as a student leader for the Transfer Center and representative for the office of Orientation and Transition Programs during Transfer Orientation
