Position Overview
Provides highly skilled technical support to the faculty, students, and staff of the G. Brint Ryan College of Business. Functions as an expert system administrator engaged in installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and operating system software in support of the business processing requirements of the college. Services are provided to over 125 faculty, 65+ staff, and all MBA/MS and doctoral-level students within the college.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Prior experience with specific systems, equipment, and software may be required by the department. Considerable knowledge of principles of computing and/or communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environments. Ability to supervise and train subordinates. Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware. Ability to assimilate, retain, and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
Preferred Qualifications
BA or BS degree or equivalent experience; at least 6 years in the IT field; at least 3 years dealing with VMware View or Citrix.
Job Duties
- Installing, maintaining, and configuring virtual desktops and servers on Citrix and VMware View
- Performing virtual desktops and servers, windows and other security updates
- Troubleshooting virtual desktops and streaming applications for user and College admins
- Administering VMware Horizon View and Citrix Framework
- AD and GOP administration and troubleshooting of AD objects and GPOs
- Documenting creation for both user and technical levels for Citrix and VMware View support
- Installing, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting Dell and HP hardware
- Working with DSI helpdesk to resolve user issues with Citrix or VMware View access
- Administering and troubleshooting RCOB servers and supporting infrastructure

- Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm with occasional nights and weekends.
