The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban design. HPS students are trained to lead nonprofits, become educators, researchers and professionals who strengthen the diverse communities we serve, with thoughtful, inclusive, and equitable practices as audiologists, behavior analysts, city managers, emergency managers, health care administrators, public safety administrators, public health specialists, rehabilitation counselors, speech language pathologists, social workers, urban planners, and more.
UNT WISE is the premier training and consultancy group for programs seeking to enhance employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities. We conduct training, host conferences and provide technical assistance to community rehabilitation programs (CRP) and organizations serving individuals with disabilities. UNT WISE provides more than 100 training events, serving more than 2,300 individuals, annually.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing executive, administrative, and analytical support to UNT WISE programs. Coordinates activities and acts as university-wide liaison. Identifies issues or problems and research solutions within specific management areas.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and three years' of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- State/University purchasing process experience.
- Experience working with grant/contract requirements.

Job Duties:
- Assists with administrative duties related to UNT WISE projects such as: coordinating events, problem-solving, troubleshooting issues, maintaining asset management inventory and submitting yearly inventory reports, invoicing for multiple projects, claiming deposits, tracking funds and other contract related tasks.
- Preparation of accounting related documents, including invoices, purchase orders, travel expense requests and vouchers:
- Travel documents prepared within 48 hours following receipt of request 95% of the time.
- Invoices and purchase orders processed within 24 hours following receipt of request 90% of the time.
- All other documents prepared within 24 hours following receipt of request 90% of the time unless otherwise agreed with Director.
- May assist with registrations, order payments, certificate and grade entry for CRP project.
- May assist with webinar administration and online learning system administration.
- Assists visitors by answering general questions pertinent to the project and directing them to the proper personnel.
- Answering of telephone and delivery of messages. Phone is answered promptly, and voice mail is checked frequently. Calls and messages are promptly, accurately, and consistently relayed to the proper persons.
- Creates and disseminates correspondence and marketing materials on behalf of the office.
- Works on periodic and special projects:
- Provides administrative support for projects as requested under supervision by Director and other staff.
- Acts as internal liaison to other departments and coordinates actions on shared projects.
- Analyzes administrative needs, suggests actionable project solutions and leads them, upon approval of the Director.
- Oversees and participates in making supply and equipment purchases with purchasing card or other necessary means:
- Purchases equipment and other items as requested and in compliance with UNT policy.
- Prepare monthly purchasing card reconciliation statement accurately and by the deadline.
- Maintains Departmental Records and Project Management Tools.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
