The TRIO Programs at the University of North Texas at Dallas were designed to support the academic development of students with target schools. They are federally funded grants that serve low-income, first-generation students.
Position Overview
The Upward Bound Program Coordinator (UB) is responsible for supporting the UB program requiring a general working knowledge of TRIO programs specifically Upward Bound. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks which may include assisting with data collection, data input, program monitoring, program assessment, student support, community outreach, assisting in developing and conducting programs, reporting, and program marketing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Duties:
- Responsible for the identification, recruitment, selection, and delivery of services to participants each year. Responsible for collecting appropriate demographics, income verification, and academic documentation (report cards, transcripts, standardized test scores, IEP/ITP, 504, or medical documentation) to complete the application process prior to acceptance.
- Conduct effective and grade appropriate workshops/activities via group and/or individual meetings, that include sessions regarding college selection, career awareness, financial aid, scholarship information, standardized test preparation, tutoring, academic advising, technical assistance with college admissions and financial aid applications, campus enrichment activities, educational field trips, and career and college day programs, annually.
- Responsible for postsecondary placement and the tracking of all assigned college ready participants by providing individualized technical assistance with the college and financial procedures to monitor and ensure that the program meets its goal of postsecondary enrollment and completion, annually.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and submission of weekly and monthly reports regarding all major areas of responsibility including the progress of assigned participants, verification of high school graduating seniors, and postsecondary enrollment.
- Use of personal transportation for travel (with reimbursement) to and from target schools and community activities. Required participation in some weekend meetings, parents nights, target school open houses, overnight field trips, and summer residential program.
- Responsible for reviewing participants needs assessments and developing an Individualized Action Plan (IAP) for all assigned participants to ensure that students receive the appropriate support services that would address their identified needs, annually.
- Responsible for accurate, written documentation of all services and activities provided to participants via daily contact logs and information entered in database.
- Adhere to the established Plan of Operation, Curriculum, Program Policies and Procedures, and all other related federal TRIO rules and regulations.
- Abide by administrative policies/procedures, Standards of Professional Conduct, and the UNT Dallas rules, regulations, and policies.
- Responsible for administrative support, including budget preparation.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm; some evenings
