The Department of Economics at UNT is located in Denton Texas, 30 miles north of Dallas, Texas, with a population of 158,000. The department is home to multiple baccalaureate degrees (BA, BS, and BBA) and a master's (MS) program. The department is actively involved in educational and research activities designed to produce graduates with the economic background and quantitative skills necessary to succeed in today’s labor market or Ph.D. programs in economics and related subjects. Employers in business, industry, education, and government are in need of employees that can analyze and interpret data. Position Overview

The Department of Economics is seeking to hire a lecturer who can teach eight courses (four per semester) during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Teaching responsibilities would mainly involve principles of microeconomics and principles of macroeconomics, although, in consultation with the chair of the department, they may be asked to teach other courses according to departmental need and their interests, abilities,
and experience. The person in this position will also be required to attend faculty meetings and be available to contribute to departmental service needs.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, the applicant must either have a Master’s or Ph.D. in economics or provide evidence that they will have one of these qualifying degrees before August 1, 2025. Candidates must also have experience teaching principles of economics.
