Department Summary
The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is located in the prestigious Cultural District of Fort Worth, TX. Our mission is to offer exceptional educational activities and to advance research in the anatomical sciences and allied fields.
Research strengths in the Center for Anatomical Sciences include biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, forensic sciences, biomechanics/functional morphology, and histology. The Center encompasses 8,000-square-feet of anatomy laboratories that support anatomical education, research, and outreach. The Center also houses dedicated research laboratories equipped for medical imaging analysis/morphometrics, forensic anthropology, thermoregulatory studies (environmental chamber), histology, and paleontological fossil preparation.
Center for Anatomical Sciences teaches dissection and prosection-based anatomy courses to Medical, Physical Therapy, Physician’s Assistant, and Master of Medical Science students. The Center is also home to the Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Sciences (STARS) PhD program that prepares graduate students to join the workforce as researchers and anatomy educators.
The Center also supports numerous K-12 science outreach programs, offering summer science camps, campus tours, and in-school events that introduce students to anatomy and its relationship to medical education.
Position Overview
The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire Hourly Decedent Care Drivers to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Assist Willed Body Program Staff with making removals and transport of donor from the place of death to UNTHSC. Assist with coordinating set up and breakdown of labs and courses at UNTHSC. Will work on the completion of donation paperwork with NOK. Completion of paperwork with donor families. Will assist with general up keep of the labs. Will assist with transporting specimens to crematory as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Willed Body Program processes
- Ability to communicate both orally and written
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Previous experience in a Willed Body Program setting

Job Duties:
- Make removals and transport of donor from place of death to HSC.
- Assess donor and inventory property.
- Assist with coordinating set up breakdown of labs and course at UNTHSC and general cleaning straightening of lab space.
- Completion of paperwork with NOK and/or donor families.
- Assist with training of new hourly employees.
- Inventory and restocking of supplies.
Physical Requirements:
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
- Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
