Department Summary

The Department of Medical Education and Health Systems Science is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare providers and researchers who are committed to providing excellence in clinical care, primary care education, and research. Through innovative curricular designs, early clinical experiences, and mentorship, Medical Education and Health Systems Science focuses on producing highly competent, caring, and compassionate medical practitioners, helping reduce the shortage of primary care physicians in our Texas communities.

Position Overview

The Department of Medical Education and Health Systems Science is seeking a part-time hourly faculty member to teach and mentor Doctor of Osteopathy medical students and residents.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following required qualification: DO/MD Degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Knowledge and experience in using various teaching methods to create an effective learning environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with teaching general procedural skills for medical students including physical exam and point of care ultrasound.
