Department Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services is an interdisciplinary department that houses a Ph.D. in Health Services Research, two Master’s degrees (Rehabilitation Counseling and Health Services Administration), two Bachelor’s degrees (Public Health and Rehabilitation Studies), and several minors and certificates. We focus on preparing interdisciplinary professionals and leaders who will advance and optimize quality-of-life outcomes in communities worldwide. In addition to being an innovative, student-centered instructor, the ideal candidate will be invested in supporting and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
The Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at anytime. This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
The work assignments are associated with teaching undergraduate courses whose duties will include 5000-level courses in Health Services Administration. These courses may be offered in an online or face-to-face format.
The anticipated need is for Adjunct Instructors whose duties may include but are not limited to teaching the following courses: Health Data Analytics; Health Informatics; Images of Aging in Film and Literature; The Family in Later Life; The Social Context of Aging: Global Perspectives; Financial Issues in Health Care Administration; Health Delivery Systems; Health Policy.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master’s Degree from an accredited Health Services Administration or related area program.
* A minimum of three years in a health services’ gerontological and/or aging services setting.
* Experience with online/hybrid/remote instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Health Services, Health Services Management, or a closely related field.
* Higher education/university teaching experience.
* Additional professional expertise/practice in applied gerontology or gerontological settings.
* Experience using the Canvas LMS platform.
