Position Overview
This position provides departmental support for applicants and students in the graduate programs in Learning Technologies, including processing paperwork and forms for students, and providing data for the department to assist with decision making. Responsibilities also include creating course schedules, assisting with faculty assignments, and providing website maintenance. This position requires occasional work outside of an 8-5 schedule for planned events.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships. Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function. Ability and strong willingness to travel and interact with various stakeholders, both individually and in groups at campus as well as at external locations.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties
- Manage all aspects of course scheduling for the Department including addition and cancellation of courses, filing related documents with the registrar and monitor enrollment in classes. Coordinate course scheduling related tasks with faculty, COI advising staff and the Registrar’s Office. Work with HR staff and the department chair regarding adjunct assignments including, if necessary, creating new classes or removing classes that do not make.
- Liaison between department and CLEAR regarding course reviews and redevelopment. Assists Department Chair and Program Directors with catalog updates and Curriculog entries. Collects and inputs data for institutional effectiveness and SACOS accreditation reporting and works with department chair to ensure the UNT catalog is updated and accurate.
- Acts as a liaison between the department chair and salaried graduate students. Assists in application process, selection process, and hiring process. Communicate any changes to the assignment to the salaried graduate student. Coordinates evaluation and processing of Tuition Benefit Program for PHD students and coordinates graduate assistant assignments. Including being liaison with TGS, managing award data/spreadsheet, ensuring financial agreements are signed and awards have been disbursed.
- Communicate important information to Ph.D. students and respond to student issues. Assists with PhD student registration, degree plan routing and other student procedural paperwork coordination. Research and monitor PhD student status and progress and produces internal and external reports as needed. Develops, maintains and updates streamlined procedures, forms, and documents as needed for the PhD Program. Manages and Maintains records for PhD Program according to UNT records management practices.
- Coordinates all logistics and communication for the annual doctoral meeting. Assists with college and department activities and events outside of normal business hours, as needed, including graduate commencements.
- Assists with updating the departmental website. Provide suggestions for improvement.
- Supervises front desk student assistants.
