Position Overview
This position coordinates event logistics, communications, website and social media updates, outreach activities, and data collection and reporting. The role serves as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and helps ensure that The People Center operates efficiently and effectively in support of student success, industry engagement, and research-practice collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to analyze and summarize data and prepare reports.
- Experience with social media platforms and website content management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or business administration.
- Experience planning and coordinating events.
- Experience managing social media and web content.
- Experience using data systems such as Handshake.
- Familiarity with SHRM-CP and HRCI continuing education requirements.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties
- Administrative & Financial Coordination Manages contracts, files, and legal documentation to ensure institutional compliance. Handles complex calendar scheduling, optimizes resource allocation, tracks expenditures, and drafts financial reports for leadership decisions.
- Operations & Program Support Develops standard operating procedures and shared digital resources to optimize workflows. Manages meeting logistics, coordinates special projects, and oversees the onboarding and tracking of graduate assistants.
- Event Planning & Outreach Executes logistics, registration, and on-site support for HR Collaboratives, networking dinners, and speaker events. Serves as a point of contact for stakeholders, builds partner relationships, and maintains SHRM-CP/HRCI credit records.
- Communications & Marketing Acts as the primary voice for The People Center’s LinkedIn page by creating and scheduling content. Collaborates with RCOB marketing to design graphics, maintain brand integrity, and update outreach info on the website.
- Data Analytics & Reporting Aggregates and analyzes student engagement, internship, and partnership data using Handshake and university systems. Maintains stakeholder databases and prepares performance summaries and impact reports for donors and leadership.
