The Department of Family Medicine/ Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare providers and researchers who are committed to providing excellence in clinical care, primary care education, and research. Through innovative curricular designs, early clinical experiences, and mentorship, the Department is focused on producing highly competent, caring, and compassionate Family Medicine/OMM physicians, helping reduce the shortage of primary care physicians in our Texas communities.
Position Overview
The Family Medicine Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking a part time Assistant/Associate Professor faculty member in the Office of Rural Medical Education (ORME) to teach and mentor Doctor of Osteopathy medical students for the Rural Osteopathic Medical Education (ROME) programs. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
· Assist with the planning and facilitating of ROME Courses, ROME events, and other ROME programming Participation as faculty through a combination of classroom instruction, clinical instruction, and Rural field trips.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.) or Doctor of Medical Degree (M.D.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Job Duties:
- Attend ROME team meetings
- Participate in ROME activities
- Assist with curriculum development and planning
- Assist with special projects as requested
- Assist in small group teaching in a clinical setting
- Facilitate ROME course sessions in a classroom setting
- Assist in student evaluation of ROME students
- Facilitate Off-campus Service learning opportunities
- Assist with recruitment and interviewing applicants for the Rural Scholars Program
