The Department of Internal Medicine’s academic goal is to provide primary teaching strategies and problem-based learning solutions for students, residents and fellows. Internal Medicine provides both classroom and clinical based experiences covering both inpatient and ambulatory care. Our goal is to prepare students, residents and fellows to assume roles as clinical practitioners, academic leaders and community advocates in all aspects of primary and subspecialty care.
Position Overview
The University of North Texas Health Science Center Department of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor with experience in Geriatrics. They will be responsible for teaching, research, and service within their academic discipline and contribute to the advancement of knowledge through scholarly activities, mentor students, and engage in departmental and institutional initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Board certified in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Ability to effectively teach and engage students at various levels
Ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and other stakeholders
Ability to lead and motivate others, particularly in research projects or teaching initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in patient care and teaching medical students
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Board certified in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics or related field
Job Duties:
- Engage in clinical education by teaching and mentoring medical students, physician assistant students, and residents.
- Provide ambulatory patient care services, ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings and strategic planning .
- Timely documentation care provided within an electronic health record.
