Position Overview
The Associate Director Career Services is responsible for preparing students for internships within the community and engaging with area employers to stay up to date on the needs of their workforce. This person coaches individual students through process, facilitates group-level workshops such as mock-interviews, networking opportunities, and creation of personal brand artifacts as well as serves as instructor of internship courses for multi-disciplinary programs at the UNT at Frisco campus. This position also supervises two Career and Employer Development Specialists who serve all majors at the Frisco campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Extensive knowledge of career advising and development
* Knowledge of University operations, policies and procedures
* Working knowledge of computer technology and applications in the career services field
* Ability to deal tactfully with students, individually and in group situations
* Excellent presentation and counseling skills
* Excellent written and oral communications skills
* Ability to supervise, train, and plan work of subordinates
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Higher Education/Student Development/Counseling+5 or more years of student development experiences or equivalent.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Individual Student Coaching for internship preparation & Group Programming in workshop style events that prepare students for upcoming experiential learning opportunities.
- Employer Engagement to learn more about what is needed in the workforce and to learn feedback loops that inform our practice, coaching and curriculum adjustments.
- Faculty Partnerships within project-based learning programs to inform internship course design and connect employer guest speakers with courses of interest.
- Strategy/Planning/Assessment which sorts through evaluation feedback to create reports for academic program directors or leadership to stay informed of what interns are learning in their workplace or where areas for improvement may lie. - (Essential)
- Internship Course instructor using engaging course design that stays connected with students throughout internship experience and allows for reflective learning throughout.
- Work with Prospective Students when asked to participate in recruitment events and guide students and parents through what to expect during time at UNT at Frisco and explain career engagement opportunities that support students' growth and connection to industry.
- Work with Academic Advisors to integrate career readiness and create innovated approaches for students to gain seamless support and preparation

Monday-Friday 8-5, occasional evenings and Saturdays
