Position Overview

The Card Services Department is an essential component of the University of North Texas System Procurement Department. The Procurement Department is responsible for establishing procurement policies and procedures to ensure the University System operates with integrity and transparency in the marketplace. The role of the Card Services Department is to support the mission of the University by procuring goods and services designed to meet the operational needs of the University System. We are also responsible for providing leadership on procurement issues and obtaining the best value for the University System while adhering to state, federal and University guidelines. Performs journey level card services work with proven experience. Responsible for customer service and auditing card services transactions from University Departments for goods and services. Thinks logically, gathers relevant information, identifies alternatives, weighs evidence and takes appropriate actions.

Note to applicants - This position would start May 01, 2025 or after.  

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field of study or four years' of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of or ability to quickly learn applicable laws, codes, regulations, standards, methods and practices related to Higher Education Procurement and/or Card Services.
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and maintain those standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Tools; Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard PO software programs.
  • Actively seeks opportunities for continuous learning and to stay up to date on industry trends.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement to resolve situations and know when to escalate issues

Required License/Registration/Certifications

 

Job Duties:

  • Review card services reports and maintain regular follow up with customers (quality control). 
  • Resolve issues and know when to escalate. 
  • Ensure internal and external customers comply with Federal, State, and UNT Policies and Procedures. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure timely processing for Pcard and Travel. 
  • Reconcile (review and audit) reports monthly for the appropriate guideline compliance. 
  • Assist department customers with identifying opportunities to use Pcard to the maximum responsible extent. 
  • Completing and Filing State required Procurement Forms (LBB, ECM, VPTS). 
  • Enter Contract Information/Data in Total Contract Manager (TCM).
  • Provides leadership, supervision, mentorship and training with integrity and transparency to various internal and external customers. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
