The UNTS Office of Contract Administration will advance the strategic objectives through legal and ethical stewardship of University business and procurement contracts, outstanding customer service, efficient processes and effective collaborations, that seek to advance teaching, learning, research, clinical care and the daily business operations of the University.
Position Overview
The Contracts Coordinator supports the administration, management, and monitoring of business and procurement contracts to ensure compliance with UNT System policies, state and federal laws, and best practices. This role facilitates the full contract lifecycle, including negotiation, approval routing, vendor coordination, and performance monitoring. The Coordinator contributes to process improvements and supports strategic goals for contracting functions across the institution. Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of University, federal, and state contracting regulations and procedures.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and evaluate complex contract terms.
• Skill in identifying problems and implementing effective solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Proficiency in maintaining records using electronic contract management tools.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Texas procurement policies and Jaggaer (contract modules).
• Relevant professional certification (e.g., CTCD, CTCM, CPPB).
• Experience in higher education or public sector contracting.

Job Duties:
- % - Administer and monitor procurement and business contracts throughout the full lifecycle. - (Essential)
- % - Review and negotiate contract terms and ensure legal compliance with applicable laws and policies. - (Essential)
- % - Coordinate with vendors, legal counsel, and stakeholders to facilitate approvals and resolve contract issues. - (Essential)
- % - Maintain contract records in electronic systems and track contract status, renewals, and expirations. - (Essential)
- % - Support state reporting requirements including Legislative Budget Board and SB20 compliance. - (Essential)
- % - Develop and update contract templates, workflows, and internal procedures as needed. - (Essential)
- % - Perform compliance audits and serve as point of contact for assigned contracts. - (Essential)
- % - Prepare standard and ad hoc reports on contract status, performance, vendor utilization, and expenditures. - (Essential)
- % - Assist departments with contract-related inquiries and ensure proper training and documentation. - (Essential)
- % - Support Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) initiatives where applicable. - (Essential)
- % - Attend professional development trainings and contribute to process improvement initiatives. - (Essential)
