Position Overview
This position is responsible for serving in a support role for fundraising activities. This position is responsible for assisting with managing a component of daily operations for a department.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of professional experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, public relations, corporate account sales, or communications; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of the development field.
- Knowledge of accepted business practices and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain cordial, productive, and professional working relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to manage time, personnel, financial, and physical resources effectively.
- Exceptional communications skills.
- Ability to master University policies and procedures and apply these in specific situations.
- Some knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles or ability to quickly assimilate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of donor management software (i.e., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or other similar software)
- Previous experience working with donors or individuals of high-wealth capacity.
- Prior higher education experience.

Job Duties:
- Assists with managing a component of daily operations to include but not limited to assisting lower-level team members with escalated issues, overseeing operations in the director’s absence, and monitoring an operating budget.
- Assists with developing and maintaining data and processes for assigned area (donor relations, data, gift processing, prospect development, special events, donor relations, or communications).
- Participates in a variety of special projects as assigned. May include assisting with the planning and implementation of a project or event.
- Ensures compliance with policies and regulations associated with assigned area.
- Assists with departmental assessments/measures of initiatives and programs.
- Performs research to support the needs of the assigned area or division.
Work Schedule:
Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm; may include some nights and weekends
