Position Overview
The Office of Admissions, at the University of North Texas, is seeking to hire a Director to assist in all strategic and operational activities for the recruitment of undergraduate students, under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Enrollment. This position directs a broad range of college access, encouragement, and recruitment services that enhance UNT's institutional reputation. Responsibilities include university community engagement, scholarships, and the introduction of university brand to regional communities.
This position is also responsible for the cultivation and education of students, parents, families, civic and business leaders regarding UNT's enrollment process, financial aid availability, and scholarship resources. The outcomes of the Office of Admissions directly influence the quantity and quality of UNT's entering freshmen and transfer class.
Minimum Qualifications
Education experience required: Bachelor's Degree in related field and six years' of closely related professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of university admissions standards, policies, and procedures, and special admissions procedures or ability to quickly assimilate, knowledge of university curriculum and academic policies and procedures, and of the training and qualifications needed to perform university academic work satisfactorily.
- Knowledge of strategic planning principles.
- In depth knowledge of admissions processing.
- Ability to develop effective reports for decision making.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and strong presentation and counseling skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and students and parents from a diverse population.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other student information systems or ability to quickly assimilate.
- Ability to supervise, train, and plan work of subordinates.
- Skill in the use of a personal computer, Microsoft Office, and/or other software.
- Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Job Duties:
- Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the Office of Admissions undergraduate recruitment team.
- Supervise professional and support staff, including hiring and selection, work assignment, performance evaluation, personnel, and disciplinary actions, and scheduling and leave approval; also in collaboration with Admissions events, organizes personnel to help support Admissions events.
- Represents Enrollment Management and serves on strategic university and regional boards, committees, meetings, and Admissions initiatives programs.
- Advance internal university partnerships through collaboration and participation on campus committees, aimed at developing a relationship between the admissions and enrollment process for designated student populations.
- 1Develop and guide external partnerships with regional school districts, P20 councils, community organizations, and social agencies to increase college enrollment at UNT and within the state.
- Collaborate with other departments, within Enrollment Management, to increase the likelihood of UNT prospective students to enroll at UNT.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; occasional overtime and weekends
