Department Summary
The Research Communications team within the Division of Research & Innovation develops and manages all multi-media content for the division to enhance and support the generation and dissemination of knowledge of the university's research, scholarly work and creative activities.
Position Overview
This DRI Hourly Graphic & Web Designer position designs and develops creative media content for the Research Communications unit within the Division of Research & Innovation. Incorporating elements of UX design, position will assist with all-encompassing content design (from beginning development stage, to end user-experience) to support website and graphic design, social media, photography/videography, and other media platforms as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Arts, Graphic Design, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail, efficient organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to take instruction effectively and fulfill requests given.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize updates.
- Ability to learn and implement various UNT and accessibility website policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Web development and/or graphic design experience.
- HTML/CSS and content management system best practices and experience.
- Software expertise: Microsoft Office, Drupal, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Social media platform content creation: LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
Job Duties:
- Create website and graphic design templates. Design innovative web layouts and elements for production by conducting research to inform design decisions and evaluate your designs.
- Web-filing, front-end development, content editing and updates. Provides end-user support for managing implementation and updates of web content.
- Manage and design content for all the division's social media platforms, including developing content utilizing photography and videography.
- Work collaboratively as part of the Research Communications team to develop and design strategic media content creation for the division.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday. Some evenings and weekends as needed.
