Department Summary

The Gateway Testing Center strives to provide external testing services to students and the surrounding UNT community. Through our testing services, we strive to support the mission of the University of North Texas with our portfolio of wide-ranging exam services. In addition to being an authorized ETS, Castle-Scantron, and College Board testing center, we strive to provide a positive testing experience for a variety of student testing needs to both our incoming freshman and our departing seniors.

Counseling & Testing Services provides a wide range of services at our testing center including computer-based testing, paper-based exams, and proctoring for third party organizations and institutions (including other schools). Additionally, we offer TSI & Accuplacer testing for all students (including non-UNT students).

Position Overview

This position will serve as the first point of contact for callers and walk-in traffic. Responsibilities include answering phones, assisting walk-in visitors, and supporting full-time office staff as needed. The individual in this role will provide excellent customer service, complete a variety of clerical duties, and administer tests as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

This is a security sensitive position that must follow test security guidelines at all times. Must be customer service oriented, responsible, and dependable. Effective communication is essential as this position requires the student employee to talk to a high volume of others on the phone and in person.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be comfortable working with computers. Must be self-reliant, team player, flexible, and able to change tasks quickly. Must be prepared and willing to take direction and constructive criticism well from others.

Job Duties:

  • Frontline customer service for walk-in traffic and calls.
  • Clerical duties: Filling forms, checking in candidates, including checking paperwork, and Proctoring services.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
