The HSC Regional Simulation Center offers an essential part of health care education through state-of-the-art simulation and cutting-edge virtual reality rooms. The immersive environments replicate various real-world healthcare settings, allowing learners to practice and refine their skills. The center addresses today’s healthcare challenges, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and communication. The center is designed to accommodate simulation training needs of current and future students, as well as community partners.
Position Overview
The Educational Program Manager uses professional skills and clinical knowledge in collaboration with staff, faculty, and leadership to create learning activities in support of a healthier community. The Educational Program Manager will contribute to educational programs for a wide variety of learners including medical students, healthcare professionals, and the community at large. The Educational Program Manager will assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of a wide variety of educational activities and must be experienced in simulation based education. Good customer service skills are necessary for collaborating across departments to enhance the educational experience for our learners.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Educational design, curriculum development, adult learning principles, writing skills, communication skills, collaborative mindset, analytical skills, project management, assessment knowledge, presentation skills, application of clinical knowledge, MS office competence, and simulation best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Application of clinical knowledge. Bachelors degree in healthcare field and three (3) years recent experience. Experience in implementing simulation content for learners. Working knowledge of simulation design and adult learning principles
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Program Development: Collaborate with faculty, staff, and the simulation team on design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Curriculum Design: Make recommendations to faculty to ensure curricula, scenarios, and plans align with simulation standards of best practice and/or ASPE standards of best practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Ensure all components of the plan are documented and communicated to colleagues and other stakeholders in a thorough and timely manner.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Professional Development: Maintain knowledge of best practices and current trends in healthcare simulation through active participation in list-serves, networking groups, webinars, conferences, or reviewing published literature.
- Relationship Building & Customer Service: Develop and maintain effective, respectful, and collegial working relationships with all internal and external individuals and organizations to carry out the department's strategic objectives.
- Team Support: Assist with simulation center set-ups and teardowns as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
