The Department of Educational Psychology addresses themes of cognition, behavior, and emotion within our society by generating research, disseminating knowledge and preparing scholars who take leadership in their fields while enhancing the development and effective functioning of individuals, schools and families.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for implementing an uncontrolled clinical trial to evaluate the feasibility of a novel teacher-implemented intervention program (Family-school Partnership Intervention, FSPI) to create alignment between school and parents of preschoolers with social-communication vulnerabilities in community-based childcare settings. FSPI is currently being implemented across 30 educator-parent teams from 10 community-based preschool programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Special Education or related field
Ability to conduct research and publish/present results
Excellent communication and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Special Education or related field.
Expertise in early education, parent coaching, naturalistic interventions for children w/autism. Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties
- Conduct experiments, gather data, document research notes, code and analyze data, interpret data
- Prepare manuscripts for publications in a timely manner and talks and posters for presentation at group meetings and conferences. Assist with reporting of research progress to funding agencies
- Keep up with historical and latest research data and publications
- Stay up-to-date with all trainings, and federal, state, university and department requirements
