Department Summary
The University of North Texas at Dallas launched the Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) in 2025. The Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) at UNT Dallas serves as a dynamic hub to prepare students for meaningful careers and lives through hands-on learning and professional development.
The CELCS works to serve this purpose by
• partnering with faculty as key stakeholders to co-design initiatives that integrate academic rigor with career readiness
• helping students develop "power skills" and character to thrive in a global
workforce, connecting academic learning with real-world experience through internships, service-learning, and study abroad programs,
• providing tools, resources, and guidance for career exploration, resume building, interview preparation, and job placement,
• collaborating with employers and community organizations to create impactful
experiential learning opportunities,
• and providing resources and support to integrate experiential learning into courses and student organizations.
Position Overview
The Employer Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting the experiential learning programs and services of the Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success (CELCS) at UNT Dallas to the Dallas Community. The Employer Engagement Coordinator is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with employers, industry partners, and community organizations to enhance career development and experiential learning opportunities for UNT Dallas students and graduates. This position supports the Center’s mission by connecting students to internships, jobs, and career related experiences that align with their academic and professional goals. This is a new position reporting to the Director, Employer Engagement and Partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study and 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Job Duties
- Identify, initiate, and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national employers across diverse industries.
- Promote UNT Dallas students and programs to employers through outreach, presentations, and networking events.
- Develop employer engagement strategies that align with workforce trends and student career interests.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employer inquiries and partnership opportunities.
- Plan and execute employer-facing events such as career fairs, networking mixers, employer panels, and recruitment days.
- Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to support co-hosted events and initiatives.
- Ensure high-quality employer and student experiences at all CELCS events.
- Assist in expanding internship, micro-internship, and job shadowing opportunities for students.
- Work with faculty and staff to integrate employer partnerships into academic programs and experiential learning initiatives.
- Support the development of service-learning and community-based learning opportunities with nonprofit and civic partners.
- Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, engagement activities, and partnership outcomes.
- Track job and internship postings, student applications, and hiring outcomes using career services platforms (e.g., Handshake).
- Contribute to impact reports and presentations that highlight employer engagement success and student career outcomes.
- Use data insights to enhance student experiences in internships, service learning, and career development.
- Use data insights to enhance employer engagement and partnership.
