Position Overview
The ERP Systems Administrator I supports daily operations of ERP systems by installing, configuring, and maintaining software, troubleshooting issues, and automating routine tasks. The role ensures system stability and performance, provides second-tier support, and maintains documentation. It fills a critical gap between help desk and senior admin roles, enabling efficient service delivery and allowing senior staff to focus on strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computing or information systems and one year of related computer programming experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of ERP systems, client/server architecture, and software installation and configuration.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving system issues, with the ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
- Skilled in scripting and automation to streamline tasks.
- Familiarity with system performance monitoring.
- Ability to read and apply technical documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with users and technical teams. Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices.
- Knowledge of safe working procedures and licensing compliance.
- Capable of working independently while following established procedures.
- Understanding of IT principles, databases, and application support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Linux admin experience
- PeopleSoft experience
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties
- Provide second-tier support by troubleshooting ERP system issues, communicating with users, and documenting resolutions.
- Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Develop scripts or programs to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Review technical documentation to support system installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Create and maintain procedural documentation to support consistent system administration practices.
- Install, configure, and update ERP-related software systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
