The Event Operations Department at UNT Dallas is dedicated to creating seamless and memorable events that enhance the university’s mission and community engagement. We manage all aspects of event planning, coordination, and execution, supporting a wide variety of functions, including academic events, student activities, conferences, and community partnerships. Our team collaborates with internal departments and external partners to ensure that every detail is handled, from logistics and technology to catering and security, providing an exceptional experience for all attendees.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for assisting with all daily event staging setups and event administrative duties. Set-up configurations may require, but are not limited to, theatre, classroom, runway fashion shows or banquet seating configurations. This position adheres to event space guidelines and procedures as administered by the University Event Manager and campus standards set by the fire marshal. Also responsible for the appearance and high levels of cleanliness of the meeting rooms, event spaces, campus wide settings and staging areas.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalent and two years related experience with some experience in a lead or supervisory role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to keep records and complete forms accurately.
- Ability to direct and manage the work of others.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to complete tasks (example: measuring).
- Physical ability to perform work involving standing, stooping, operating equipment, and lifting.
- Familiar with the campus-wide safety guidelines and procedures that may require wearing protective footwear and or support belts.
- Knowledge of appropriate safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Responsible for coordinating the space and setup needs for events on campus; assist with setup as needed.
- Attends reservation meetings with customers, operational departments, catering staff, and other campus service providers as applicable.
- Works in harmony with others through active, positive, and courteous interactions with faculty, staff, students, and patrons.
- Conveys policies and procedures relative to event management and risk management.
- Assist in coordinating summer camps and conferences.
- Provides reservation deposit requirements and deadlines to clients.
- Communicates payment policies and ensures timely and accurate billing.
- Meets with clients on the day of the event to ensure their needs are met.
- Facilitates onsite transitions to day of event service providers.
- Troubleshoots and executes changes that may need to be made.
- Collect post event feedback from client as well as other service areas.
- Run event specific reports as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM and as needed based on events
