Department Summary
Classroom Technologies is a department within the Academic Technologies Division that provides essential services for faculty, staff and students in 250+ classrooms across multiple campuses. The primary function of the department is the installation and maintenance of classroom systems in addition to assisting the users of those systems.
Position Overview
The Integrated Systems Technician role is responsible for providing demonstrations on how to operate classroom equipment to users in addition to performing classroom system maintenance, repair, and installation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have a current and valid Texas Driver’s License and a clean driving history.
- Have the stamina to work actively for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 150 pounds with the use of a dolly/handcart.
- Be able to walk long distances when required.
- Have strong visual and aural acuity.
- Have the ability to drive a ¾ ton van and to establish and maintain insurability under the University’s liability insurance policy.
- Have the ability to work safely on ladders and scaffolding.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Be able to accurately read and interpret technical documentation.
- Be able to accurately and legibly fill out documentation.
- Be able to learn readily and retain knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with audio-visual systems with a focus on higher-education learning spaces.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
- Have a current and valid Texas Driver’s License and a clean driving history.
