Position Overview
Operational and communications lead for a broad, rapidly expanding initiative. Its purpose is to ensure effective execution of the Center’s academic programs, cross-departmental coordination, stakeholder engagement, communications, and high-profile events. The position is required to provide operational capacity and accountability, enabling leadership to focus on strategic direction, curricula, policy, and research development and publication, and elevating the University’s national profile.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of closely related professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures related to the functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
* Extensive knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to the functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
* In-depth knowledge of learning outcomes.
* Requires knowledge of best practices in assessment as it pertains to higher education and institutional effectiveness, including the creation of outcomes, assessment methods and instruments, as well as data analysis, and utilization of reporting results.
* Ability to plan, conceptualize, and make sound business decisions.
* Must exercise considerable independent and professional judgment in matters of significance.
* Strong presentation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
* Strong planning and project management skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of populations verbally and in writing.

Job Duties
- Execute Center operations and initiatives, aligning with strategy, ensuring daily performance, and maintaining efficient workflows.
- Plan and deliver high-profile events, including summits, roundtables, receptions, and stakeholder engagements with senior leaders.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary curriculum delivery, including scheduling, registration, faculty coordination, and promotion.
- Serve as primary liaison to Chairs, Faculty, colleges, and units across 10+ departments, ensuring collaboration and continuity.
- Support governance bodies (Presidential Advisory Council, Executive Steering Committee, Faculty Advisory Council), including scheduling, agendas, materials, and follow-up.
- Coordinate communications and engagement, including social media, newsletters, podcasts, presentations, and sponsorship materials.
- Support thought leadership and research output, including publications, policy content, and executive reports.
- Manage administrative operations and special projects, providing executive support and ensuring organizational efficiency.
