Position Overview
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the HSHL project. Duties may include organizing, coordinating, and assisting with training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work independently and lead project teams effectively
- Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Physical Activity and Early Childhood or related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Nutrition, Recreation, Health, Psychology, etc.) at time of appointment.
- Professional experience working as program/project manager or coordinator in settings with diverse young children and families, and/or health and human service agencies, Head Start, or pre-kindergarten classrooms.
- Research focusing on young children’s physical activity and nutrition as well as parental impact in underrepresented and/or diverse populations.
- Experience working with a SNAP-Ed program, Education Administration Reporting System (EARS), and Program Evaluation and Reporting System (PEARS).

Job Duties:
- Monitoring and providing professional development for undergraduate and graduate students on developing their content knowledge and delivery skills as they implement direct services with preschooler and their teachers and assistants in Head Start Centers and pre-kindergarten classrooms.
- Managing administrative tasks, timelines, and record-keeping associated with implementing and maintaining the HSHL project.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, grant deadlines and guidelines surrounding use of logos, funding statements, and financial guidelines.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm - occasional evening and weekend flexing schedule to not exceed 40 hours per week.
