Position Overview
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of University Registrar. The Registrar has line responsibility for the operation of the Registrar’s Office including planning, budgeting, organizing, managing, and assessing student records, graduation, degree audit, registration, schedule of classes, classroom scheduling, certification, transcript production, and internal, state and federal reporting functions for the University in support of its mission. The Registrar reports to Assistant Provost in the division of Academic Affairs, serves various university committees, and is responsible for appropriate administration of academic policy.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree and six (6) years of experience in higher education or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, tact and professionalism.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of regulatory, professional, and ethical guidelines in enrollment management to ensure compliance with college, state, federal, and other outside agency rules and regulations.
- Competency in planning and executing strategies for services and operations in a college/university environment, including skill in problem solving and change management.
- Ability to effectively use computer, database systems, and information technology.
- Ability to provide high quality customer service.
- Ability to work in a diverse, collaborative, results-oriented environment.
- Consistently exercises initiative.
- Establishes, motivates, and supports effective teams to meet objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer experience with PeopleSoft, Coursedog (or other platforms that manage scheduling, catalogs, curriculum, and eForms workflow), National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Responsible for maintenance and security of student academic records and for ensuring University policies, procedures and regulations that relate to this area are properly administered. Develops, refines, and documents processes and procedures in the students records area.
- Works collaboratively with academic and administrative areas of the University and IT Services to provide support processes/functions necessary to maintain an excellent standard of services related to student record for students, faculty, staff and external client.
- Hires, trains, monitors, and conducts scheduled evaluations of the work performance of employees supervised. Organizes staff and fiscal resources in support of priorities and workload demands.
- Responds to externally mandated local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Acts as final authority for assuring that graduation candidates meet all university requirements of a degree.
- Responsible for assuring accuracy and timely delivery of official transcripts.
- Responsible for managing publication of catalogs, schedule of classes, and university academic calendar.
- Oversees and prepares annual operating and proposed budgets in accordance with university planning priorities and assesses the effectiveness of processes and functions to strive for continuous improvement.

M-F 8 am - 5 pm with occasional extended hours and weekend events.
