Department Summary
The Bioproduct Innovation Lab is part of the UNT College of Engineering's Department of Mechanical Engineering. The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) offers a comprehensive range of programs—from undergraduate to doctoral—emphasizing both the theoretical and practical aspects of mechanical engineering.
Position Overview
This position will support the U.S. Department of Energy Zero-Emission Natural Fiber Composites (ZENC) for Fire-Detecting Fireproof EV Battery Enclosure project.
Minimum Qualifications
MS Degree in Science or Engineering, and 3+ years of experience in wood, bioproducts, biomass, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge on bioproducts such as wood, agriculture, stems, nature fiber and mechanical testing.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with the PI and research team for regular updates and planning.
- Conduct experimental work in the labs.
- Collaborate with the PI to assist PI to conduct research in bioproduct fabrication.
- Perform data analysis and reporting.
Work Schedule:
Flexible based on lab schedule. Expect up to 20 hours per week.
