Department Summary

The Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) Office is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing effective and meaningful financial aid assistance. FAS is responsible for processing financial aid applications, administrating various financial aid programs, and providing financial aid counseling to students and their families.

Position Overview

This position serves as a team leader within the Financial Aid & Scholarship (FAS) Office Eligibility Team, manages the financial aid verification process required for the effective, efficient and compliant administration of financial aid, and possesses a high level of expertise regarding federal, state, and institutional aid administration.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of financial aid administration and/or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to verify such standing.

Job Duties

  • Serves as a team lead within the Financial Aid & Scholarship (FAS) Office, responsible for managing financial aid verification processing and reporting while serving as a backup to other Eligibility Team responsibilities. 
  • Manages, monitors, and maintains verification and eligibility processes for compliance, quality assurance, efficiency, and to ensure the best business practices. 
  • Assists with office-wide quality controls and audits. 
  • Maintains a high level of expertise regarding federal and state rules and regulations and institutional policy and procedures. 
  • Provides expert level counseling and/or guidance to students, families, or external partners.
  • Provides training and guidance to team members, colleagues, and campus partners. 
  • Monitors for federal, state, and industry updates and emerging trends. Advises leadership team and develops best business practices. 
  • Participates in financial aid outreach events.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8-5pm, with occasional nights/weekends.
