The UNT Career Center is the centralized career office responsible for the career development and employment of all UNT students and alumni. It has responsibility for all Student Employment, Internships, and Post-Graduate Employment of UNT students.
Position Overview
For this position, the Career Center at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student Services Coordinator (Career Coach) to join the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences team. This Career Coach will be the primary career advisor and educator for CLASS students and collaborate with Communication and Media related Career Coaches to ensure student career success. The CLASS Career Coach will provide one-on-one career coaching, UCAR career readiness instruction, career education facilitation in presentations, workshops, and groups, and event planning to promote networking, internship and job searches amongst students, employers, and alumni
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
* Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
* Experience in networking across departments and programs.
* Ability to communicate and work with the population.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling and two years' experience in Career Services or Career Counseling related to Liberal Arts disciplines.

Job Duties
- Interface with students as they seek guidance concerning employment, career development, internships, graduate school, and career related issues.
- Analyze student’s career paths, initiate career assessments, provide advice on resume development, interview preparation, and offer internship and job search resources.
- Develop and conduct workshops and seminars on a variety of topics, assess and report data on effectiveness and implement changes needed to engage and enhance student preparedness for the workplace, including UCRS 2100 career courses.
- Manage and lead a Career Ambassador peer mentor program, along with a Graduate Assistant oversight, to support all College career education work, including hiring, training, mentoring, and scheduling responsibilities. Role includes engaging other staff to support training.
- Work cooperatively with faculty, the Career Center Employer Development and Outreach Team to utilize more companies and alumni from a broad range of industries to engage with students on campus, and other staff with event, programming, and mentor management.
- Develop ongoing relationships and work cooperatively with faculty and administration in assigned areas.
- Develop reports on the statistical data for all student engagement and programming for assigned area(s) of responsibility to be used for the Career Center data collection.
