Department Summary

The College of Music offers a Piano Summer Camp where middle and high school students can receive exceptional instruction from concert pianists and esteemed pedagogues through masterclasses, private piano lessons, workshops, and lectures.

Position Overview

The Summer Camp faculty will work directly with students ages 11 and up in private lessons, masterclasses, and workshops. Faculty also perform in camp recitals and lead lectures.

Minimum Qualifications

Completed a terminal degree in piano performance, maintain an active teaching studio and performance schedule.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively and motivate middle and high school students, skills in four-hand piano performance, through knowledge of piano literature at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

 

Required License/Registration/Certifications

 

Job Duties

  • teach private piano lessons to camp residents 
  • teach masterclasses/clinics to camp residents 
  • perform in faculty recitals during the camp 
  • assist with occasional camp administrative duties 

Physical Requirements

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Communicating with others to exchange information.

Environmental Hazards

No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Work Schedule

Camp dates are June 3 - 7, 2026 with activities from 9 am to 9 pm each day, concluding at noon on June 7
